“My Power Is Not in My Armpits” — Burna Boy Dismisses Voodoo Rumours

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has laughed off widespread speculations that his refusal to shave his armpits is tied to voodoo or a mystical source of success.

The rumour, which has trended several times on social media after photos of the superstar revealed his unshaven armpits, was recently addressed in an interview with Apple Music.

Asked about the biggest misconception people have about him, Burna Boy said:
“One is that I don’t like to shave my armpits. People think it’s like Samson in the Bible, that my power is in my hair. Some people even claim my armpit is where my power is because I don’t shave. In Nigeria, you hear crazy things. Some think it’s some voodoo sh*t.”

Laughing off the claims, the self-styled African Giant added:
“I don’t even know how to explain it. It’s just some dumb sh*t that’s going on. I even tried to find out if it’s possible.”

Burna Boy, who has often courted controversy for his unconventional style and bold personality, made it clear that his artistry, not any mystical superstition, remains the true source of his global dominance.
