Police Debunks Viral ‘Wanted’ Poster on Iyabo Ojo, Labels It Fake News

ABUJA — The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed a viral poster alleging that Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Iyabo Ojo, was declared wanted.

The poster, which circulated widely on social media, falsely claimed that a bounty had been placed on information leading to her arrest.

In a statement released on Thursday via its official platforms, the police described the publication as “fake and misleading.”

“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to clarify that the recent Wanted Person Bulletin circulating about stating that the Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo is wanted by the Office of The IGP Monitoring Unit is NOT an official communication from the Force,” the statement read.

The NPF urged Nigerians to be wary of misinformation and always confirm such reports through official channels before spreading them.

The development follows recent claims by controversial social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who accused Iyabo Ojo and others of allegedly attempting to frame singer and Marlian Records boss, Naira Marley, in connection with the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
