The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing attack on former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, labeling him as “the most confused and clueless politician in Nigeria’s history.”
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC dismissed El-Rufai’s recent criticism of President Bola Tinubu, describing his comments as bitter outbursts driven by personal disappointment.
El-Rufai, now aligned with the opposition coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC), had warned Nigerians against re-electing Tinubu in 2027, claiming that a second term for the president would lead to the country’s destruction.
Morka, however, hit back sharply, accusing the former minister of harboring resentment after his failed bid to secure a ministerial position under Tinubu’s administration — a nomination that was ultimately rejected by the Senate.
“His speedy fall from commanding heights to the political clown he has become needs forensic study,” Morka said.
He described El-Rufai’s criticisms as the rantings of a “waspish politician” whose political career has nosedived due to arrogance and desperation.
“El-Rufai and his partners in the ADC are the most confused, clueless, rudderless, and pitiful opposition politicians our country has ever known. They bring nothing to the political table except their oversized ego, wild entitlement mentality, obscene desperation, and predatory presidential ambitions,” Morka added.
El-Rufai had previously lashed out at the APC for failing to uphold internal democracy before quitting the party entirely. His recent alignment with the ADC and sharp rhetoric against Tinubu have raised eyebrows and ignited fierce political debate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
