Mayor Lucky Igbokwe Reaffirms PDP Loyalty Amid Defection Rumours

Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, a prominent political figure in Abia State and influential member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dispelled rumours of a possible defection, reaffirming his commitment to the party.

This clarification comes in the wake of high-profile meetings with the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, and former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking to journalists after the meetings, Igbokwe said:

“I am still in PDP. If there are other intentions, I will make it public, but as of now, I am still consulting.”

While he did not rule out future political moves, Igbokwe stated that the reasons behind his engagements with leaders of other parties would be revealed in due course.

The meetings had sparked widespread speculation about his political future, but his latest statement appears to have put the rumours to rest—at least for now—reaffirming his loyalty to the PDP.
