PDP Media Spokesman Yusuf Dingyadi Resigns

In a significant development within the ranks of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Malam Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the National Chairman, has officially resigned from his position.

Dingyadi, known for his vocal and consistent presence across radio, television, and print platforms, tendered his resignation in a letter dated June 25, 2025, addressed to the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum.

“I appreciate the support and prayers of the PDP family during my stay in this office,” Dingyadi wrote. “I remain appreciative of all the contributions given to me to ensure the success of my assignment.”

While he did not disclose the reasons for his resignation, the decision comes at a time when the party is grappling with internal disagreements and strategic realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dingyadi’s political and media career spans decades. He was an integral figure in the media machinery of several major political movements, including the People’s Front (PF) led by the late Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) under Attahiru Bafarawa, and Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s administration.

A seasoned media strategist, Dingyadi also played a visible role in PDP campaigns during the Obasanjo/Atiku era and previously served under the late Minister of Communications, Arzika Tambuwal.

His exit marks the end of a notable chapter in the PDP’s communication strategy, especially at a time when clear and consistent messaging is crucial for the party’s image and cohesion.
