A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure a landslide victory in the state during the 2027 presidential election.
Oke made the assertion while responding to remarks by House of Representatives aspirant, Engr. Razaq Obe, who suggested that the President could struggle to win Ondo State in 2027 due to the lingering fallout from the party’s last primary election.
Rejecting the claim, Oke described it as inconsistent with the political reality in the state, insisting that the APC remains the dominant political force and that President Tinubu continues to enjoy widespread support among party members and the electorate.
“As a chieftain of the APC in Ondo State, I cannot keep mute over such an outburst. The statement that President Tinubu and the APC may not win the 2027 election is in total contrast to the popularity of the APC and President Tinubu in Ondo State,” he said.
According to the senior advocate, disagreements that emerge after party primaries are a normal feature of internal democratic processes and should not be interpreted as a sign of weakness within the party.
“The only party in Ondo State is the APC. In every contest, especially primary elections, there is always post-primary disagreement, particularly among those who contested for party tickets. This has nothing to do with the strength of the party in the state and its preparation for the coming election,” Oke stated.
He maintained that the APC’s current political standing in Ondo State places the party in a strong position ahead of the 2027 general election.
“With the current state of the APC in Ondo State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will record a landslide victory in Ondo come 2027,” he added.
Oke also urged party members to refrain from making public statements capable of undermining the image and unity of the APC as preparations gradually begin for the next electoral cycle.
