The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has approved 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2026 academic session.

The decision was reached on Monday during the ongoing 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions held in Abuja, attended by key stakeholders in the nation’s education sector, including the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, heads of tertiary institutions, and other regulatory officials.

The annual policy meeting serves as a platform where admission benchmarks and guidelines for universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions are determined.

Further details from the meeting are expected to emerge as deliberations continue.
