Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has ruled out any possibility of Lionel Messi returning to the Camp Nou.
Speaking to La Vanguardia, Xavi stated, “Leo Messi is never coming back to Barcelona, because Laporta doesn’t want that.”
He clarified that neither LaLiga nor Messi’s representatives demanded additional money, emphasizing that the decision rests solely with the club’s president, Joan Laporta.
Messi left Barcelona in August 2021 after contract extension talks fell through, joining Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent before moving to Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.
