Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Asake have officially released their much-anticipated joint extended play (EP), Real Vol. 1, thrilling fans across Nigeria and beyond.
The four-track project—Turbulence, Jogodo, Iskolodo, and Alaye—was unveiled on Instagram, where the duo shared a promotional video with the caption, “Real EP Vol. 1 ti jade bayi,” signaling the project’s arrival.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the EP follows the massive success of its lead single, Jogodo, which was released on January 16 and went on to make history on streaming platforms.
Jogodo shattered Spotify Nigeria records, pulling an unprecedented 1.388 million streams in its first day—the highest single-day streaming figure ever recorded for a duo or collaborative release on the platform. The song debuted at No. 1 on Spotify Nigeria and peaked at No. 82 on Spotify’s global chart.
Real Vol. 1 further cements Wizkid and Asake’s growing musical chemistry, following previous collaborations such as MMS and Bad Girl, both of which enjoyed widespread acclaim.
Individually, both artists continue to dominate the charts in 2025. Wizkid’s Morayo currently stands as the most-streamed album on Apple Music Nigeria, while Asake’s Why Love has emerged as the most-streamed song on the platform.
With Real Vol. 1, Wizkid and Asake reaffirm their status as two of Afrobeats’ most influential forces, delivering yet another project poised to shape the soundscape of contemporary African music.
