Wike’s Aide Mocks Amaechi’s 2027 Ambition: “He Couldn’t Beat Me, Now He Wants to Beat Tinubu?”

Lere Olayinka, Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ridiculed former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over his recent claim that he knows how to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

Amaechi, speaking during a public discussion on an X Space, had boasted that he could unseat Tinubu because he knows the president’s weaknesses.

Reacting in a post on X, Olayinka questioned the credibility of Amaechi’s claim, pointing to what he described as the former minister’s repeated political defeats at the hands of Wike.

“Hungry man Amaechi was a sitting governor in 2015 when Wike defeated him. He was a minister in 2019 when Wike defeated him again. He had just left office as minister in 2023 when Wike still defeated him,” Olayinka wrote.

Mocking Amaechi’s boast, Olayinka added: “The same hungry man Amaechi is boasting that he knows how to defeat Tinubu, a sitting president. Just the way he defeated Tinubu in the APC primary of 2022, nah. Alawada.com.”

Amaechi is reportedly eyeing the 2027 presidential race under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), but Olayinka’s remarks suggest Wike’s camp sees his chances as laughable.
