ABUJA — The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Monday night convened a high-level meeting with key members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to him at his official residence in Abuja.
The meeting, which kicked off at about 8:40 p.m., quickly moved into a closed-door session, signaling intense deliberations among the party heavyweights.
In attendance were PDP National Secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu; National Vice Chairman (South-South), Chief Dan Orbih; former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom; former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu; and former Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Also present were former Rivers East Senator, George Sekibo, alongside several zonal and state PDP chairmen.
Earlier in the day, Wike had hinted during his monthly media chat that he and some party stakeholders would meet later in the evening — a disclosure that has now materialized into what many see as a strategic gathering amid growing political realignments ahead of 2027.
