Lagos, Nigeria — Bosa Lee, the manager of popular Nigerian streamer Peller, has reacted to the backlash that followed Peller’s reported snub by American internet sensation iShowSpeed during his recent visit to Lagos.
DAILY POST reports that iShowSpeed, who is currently touring Africa, declined to engage with Peller on two separate occasions while in Nigeria. Peller reportedly attempted to approach the US-based streamer but was turned away by security both times.
The incident sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians accusing iShowSpeed of disrespecting one of Africa’s biggest streamers. Others, however, pointed fingers at Peller’s management for allegedly mishandling the situation.
Responding to the controversy, iShowSpeed defended his actions, stating that his African tour was focused on showcasing African culture and discovering hidden talents.
Addressing the public for the first time, Peller’s manager, Bosa Lee, revealed that the issue may have stemmed from how Peller was introduced to iShowSpeed.
“Some people are saying Peller’s management did not reach out to Speed. Who told you that we didn’t?” Lee said.
“I had contacted them earlier, but he made it clear that he wasn’t collaborating with streamers. I think our mistake was introducing Peller as a streamer,” he explained.
The development has continued to generate debate online, highlighting the complexities of influencer collaborations and expectations during high-profile international visits.
