A high-powered Nigerian delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has met with U.S. Congressman Riley M. Moore in Washington, D.C., to discuss escalating security concerns and reports of attacks on Christian communities across Nigeria.

The closed-door meeting focused on counterterrorism, protection of vulnerable groups, and the persistent wave of violence that has gripped several regions of the country. Nigerian officials outlined the government’s challenges in tackling terrorism, improving security assistance, and safeguarding large gatherings at a time when fear continues to spread among citizens.

Congressman Moore reaffirmed America’s commitment to supporting Nigeria but delivered a stern message from President Donald Trump, stressing that the U.S. will not tolerate continued religious persecution or unchecked terrorism.

“President Trump and Congress are united and serious in our resolve to end the violence against Christians and disrupt and destroy terrorist groups within Nigeria,” Moore said. He urged Nigerian authorities to deepen cooperation with the U.S. to curb the bloodshed.

The Nigerian delegation included top security and diplomatic figures:

  • Mallam Nuhu Ribadu – National Security Adviser
  • H.E. Bianca Ojukwu – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
  • Kayode Egbetokun – Inspector General of Police
  • Chief Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN – Attorney General of the Federation
