The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has declared that God intends to use former U.S. President Donald Trump to “reset the brains” of Nigeria’s political leaders.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Pastor Giwa said Nigerians should welcome Trump’s threat of possible military intervention, describing it as a divine move to confront the country’s worsening insecurity.
“Nigerians are happy to welcome the United States’ military action following the persistent security challenges facing the country,” he said. “I am sure that God wants to use President Donald Trump to reset the brains of the nation’s political leaders.”
The cleric noted that only those benefitting from terrorism would oppose the U.S. leader’s stance, stressing that corruption and lawlessness have taken over the nation.
“Over the years, Nigerians have been crying for help to no avail,” he continued. “Only those benefitting from terrorism will not support Trump’s decision to combat Islamic terrorists ravaging Nigeria.”
Pastor Giwa also lamented that the country’s founding fathers might have pursued independence from British rule for selfish reasons rather than genuine national liberation.
“Nigeria was a great nation under British rule,” he said. “It is now glaring that those who fought for Nigeria’s independence acted for selfish gains instead of the well-being of the masses. What is the essence of having a government that cannot cater for its people?”
He urged Trump not to yield to what he called “a campaign of calumny” by those profiting from corruption and insecurity.
