Two parents of students abducted from St Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri village, Agwara Local Government Area, Niger State, have reportedly died.

One of the deceased has been identified as Anthony Musa, while the identity of the female parent is yet to be confirmed.

The development was confirmed on Tuesday in Minna, the state capital, by the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, through his media aide, Daniel Atori.

Bishop Yohanna, who is also the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the proprietor of the school, said, “The man, Anthony Musa, died of a heart attack. As for the female parent, we don’t have the details yet because we couldn’t reach her family.”

The incident adds to the growing distress surrounding the ongoing abduction crisis in the region.
