GOMBE — A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Pantami Ward, Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Adamu, popularly known as Cikasoro, has officially resigned from the party to pitch his tent with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement made available to DAILY POST, Adamu explained that his defection was driven by personal conviction and a renewed commitment to deepening Nigeria’s democratic process.

“I have decided to take a new political direction by joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This decision is based on personal conviction and my desire to continue contributing meaningfully to our democratic thoughts on a new platform,” he said.

Adamu, a respected grassroots politician in Gombe, expressed gratitude to the PDP for the experiences and opportunities it afforded him during his years of membership.

“This decision was not made lightly, and I want to express my appreciation for the experiences and opportunities I have had during my time as a member,” he added.

The move is seen as part of the growing wave of defections to the ADC, which is positioning itself as a key player in the emerging opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
