President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in Owerri today on a one-day working visit to present a book authored by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, titled “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.”
The ceremony, holding at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, will also feature the inauguration of signature developmental projects executed by Uzodimma, including major roads, the Assumpta Flyover, and the new conference centre itself.
The event is drawing a high-powered gathering of Nigeria’s political, business, and traditional elite. Governors, captains of industry, senior members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other influential figures are expected to grace the occasion. The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will lead the party’s National Working Committee and state chairmen in solidarity with Governor Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF).
Royal fathers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, the Ooni of Ife, and the Obi of Onitsha, will lead an eminent delegation of traditional rulers to Owerri. They will be received by the Chairman of the Imo State Council of Ndi Eze, Eze Godwin Okeke.
According to Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, the ceremony will also have in attendance academics, labour leaders, market women, students, and other groups, reflecting what he described as Uzodimma’s wide acceptance across society.
He assured that security agencies are fully mobilized to ensure the safety of guests throughout the presidential visit. Emelumba also urged Imo citizens to troop out en masse to welcome President Tinubu and showcase the state’s legendary hospitality.
The book highlights the achievements of Nigeria’s ruling APC over the last decade, covering the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari and the ongoing Tinubu presidency.
