Tinubu Lands in UAE for 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit After Europe Trip

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in the United Arab Emirates to participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit, one of the world’s leading global forums on sustainable development.

The Nigerian leader touched down in Abu Dhabi at about 11:00 p.m. local time, where he was received by the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the president’s arrival in a statement, noting that Tinubu is attending the summit at the invitation of UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to Onanuga, the annual global forum brings together world leaders from government, business, and the private sector to explore solutions to global sustainability challenges. This year’s edition of the summit is themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go.”

The summit focuses on advancing innovation, clean energy, climate action, and economic sustainability across nations.

President Tinubu’s trip to the UAE follows his departure from Nigeria on December 28, when he left Lagos for what the Presidency described as an end-of-year break in Europe. During the trip, he was last week seen in France where he held a meeting with Rwanda’s President.

The Nigerian president is expected to return to the country after the conclusion of the week-long Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit.
