President Bola Tinubu is convening a high-level security meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, DAILY POST reports, just 24 hours after Defence Minister Abubakar Badaru resigned from his position.
The meeting is being led by Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, and includes top security officials such as Chief of Army Staff Lt. General W. Shaibu, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, and Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral I. Abbas.
Other key participants are Chief of Defence Intelligence Lt. General Emmanuel Undiandeye, Director-General of the Department of State Services Adeola Ajayi, and Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
The gathering comes amid rising security concerns across the country. Details of discussions from the meeting have not yet been released.
Earlier, President Tinubu announced the nomination of former Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa to replace Badaru as Minister of Defence.
