President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the deployment of 65 ambassadors and high commissioners to Nigerian diplomatic missions across the world, months after their nominations were confirmed by the Senate in December.

The postings include both career and non-career diplomats who will represent Nigeria in various countries and international organisations.

Among the prominent appointments is former presidential aide Reno Omokri, who has been posted to Mexico, while former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode will serve as Nigeria’s ambassador to Germany.

Other notable appointees include former Rivers State military administrator Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, assigned to the Philippines; former Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who will represent Nigeria in Spain; and former Enugu State governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, posted to Greece.

Former interior minister Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau has been deployed to China, while business executive Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu will head Nigeria’s mission in Israel.

Also on the list are Paul Oga Adikwu, who will represent Nigeria at the Vatican City, and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, appointed as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

The nominees were earlier transmitted to the Senate by President Tinubu in 2025 and confirmed before the end of that legislative year.
