‘Stop Weaponizing Ignorance’ — APC Blasts Atiku’s Camp Over Claim of Tinubu’s ‘Pardon U-turn’

Atiku's-Speech-on-Supreme-Court's-Verdict

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has fired back at the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu, describing his recent remarks on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged “pardon U-turn” as a “cocktail of ignorance, frustration, and political bitterness.”

In a statement issued on Thursday, the party’s spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, said Atiku’s camp must stop “weaponizing ignorance,” stressing that Tinubu’s leadership is built on the rule of law and due process, not emotional reactions.

“Leadership is not noise but responsibility,” Oladejo stated, adding that “unlike the impulsive and uninformed commentary that has become the trademark of the opposition, President Tinubu’s decisions are guided by due process, the rule of law, and national interest.”

According to him, review and reconsideration of government actions in line with the law are marks of “credible leadership and institutional maturity,” not signs of weakness.

Oladejo continued:

“Only in the shallow corners of the opposition’s imagination does consultation and constitutional refinement translate to a ‘U-turn.’ Nigeria deserves better than desperation politics.”

He accused the opposition of engaging in “bitterness-driven politics” and attacking sound governance decisions for the sake of cheap publicity.

“President Tinubu is strengthening institutions, not pandering to emotion or social media theatrics. While responsible leaders build, petty politicians rant,” he said.

The Lagos APC urged Nigerians to ignore what it described as “media convulsions from a defeated politician’s corner,” insisting that the President would continue to lead with “constitutional discipline, courage, and clarity of purpose.”

“Nigeria is moving forward – and no amount of political tantrums will change that reality,” Oladejo concluded.
