Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Switzerland ahead of the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), scheduled to hold from January 19 to 23, 2026.
Shettima arrived from Conakry, Guinea, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya on Saturday.
On arrival in Switzerland, the Vice President was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; the Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and officials of the Nigerian Mission in Switzerland.
The 2026 WEF marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s global economic diplomacy with the official debut of Nigeria House Davos. For the first time, the Federal Government has established a dedicated sovereign pavilion on the Davos Promenade, aimed at projecting Nigeria’s investment potential to the global community.
Speaking to journalists shortly after arrival, Oduwole said Nigeria would make a strong case for investment opportunities at the launch of the Nigeria House, with a focus on President Tinubu’s economic reform agenda.
According to her, Nigeria will showcase four key investment “playbooks” highlighting the administration’s efforts to re-engineer the economy.
“We will be showcasing four playbooks on President Tinubu’s efforts in re-engineering the Nigerian economy,” Oduwole said.
She added that priority sectors to be presented to global investors include solid minerals, climate sustainability initiatives, agriculture, as well as the creative and digital economy sectors.
The Nigeria House initiative is expected to serve as a strategic platform for engaging investors, policymakers, and global business leaders throughout the Davos summit.
