Ronaldo on Amorim’s Man United Struggles: “Miracles Don’t Happen — Not Even at Old Trafford”

Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has weighed in on the challenges facing Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, insisting that no coach can perform “miracles” at the Premier League club in its current state.

Amorim, who took charge of Manchester United in November 2024, recently secured three consecutive wins — the club’s best run since his appointment. However, that momentum was halted over the weekend when United were held to a 2–2 draw by Nottingham Forest.

Despite signs of improvement, the former United forward believes the problems at Old Trafford go deeper than coaching. Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ronaldo praised Amorim’s efforts but stressed that the situation requires more than just tactical fixes.

“He’s [Amorim] doing his best. What are you gonna do? Miracles? Miracles are impossible,” Ronaldo said.
“We say in Portugal, miracles are only in Fatima. You’re not gonna do miracles. Even the players — Manchester United have good players, but some of them don’t have the mind for what Manchester United means.”

Manchester United endured one of their worst seasons in club history last year, finishing 14th in the Premier League and ending trophyless after losing the Europa League final. The poor campaign also saw them miss out on European competition entirely — a first in decades.

While Amorim has been credited with restoring some structure and spirit to the team, Ronaldo’s remarks underscore the magnitude of the rebuilding task ahead at Old Trafford.
