Senator Mpigi Barinada, who represented Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has passed away.
The news of his death was confirmed on Thursday by the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Works, Akin Alabi, in a tribute shared on his official X handle.
“Good night my dear friend. Rest in peace, Senator Mpigi Barinada. Sen. Mpigi represented Rivers South East in the Senate,” Alabi wrote.
Until his death, Senator Mpigi served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, where he played a key role in legislative oversight on infrastructure and public works projects.
