PORT HARCOURT — The Rivers State House of Assembly has officially suspended impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu.
The decision came on Thursday during the House’s resumed sitting in Port Harcourt, where lawmakers adopted a motion to halt the process.
Reports indicate that the move follows recent high-level interventions, including a meeting convened by President Bola Tinubu with Governor Fubara, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and leaders of the state assembly.
The development signals a potential resolution to the prolonged political crisis in Rivers State.
