“Rekindle Faith, Patriotism to Rebuild Nigeria,” Gov Alia Urges Citizens

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has urged Nigerians to renew their spirit of patriotism and faith in the country as vital ingredients for building a stronger, more united nation.

Speaking during a Holy Mass held at the Government House Chapel in Makurdi on Sunday, Governor Alia emphasized that national unity and progress can only be achieved when citizens embrace love for their country and maintain a hopeful outlook despite current challenges.

The Governor, through his media aide, Tersoo Kula, called on Nigerians to shun acts and utterances capable of sowing division, urging them instead to promote peace, hope, and mutual understanding.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us,” Alia said. “We must continue to pray for our country, believe in her potential, and contribute our quota to her growth. National development is a collective task that requires our unity, optimism, and hard work.”

Governor Alia also offered special prayers for the repose of departed souls, particularly members of the Armed Forces who paid the ultimate price for national security, as well as for past leaders and every Nigerian striving for a better future.

He prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and divine protection upon all citizens and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace, development, and moral rejuvenation.

The Governor assured that his government will continue to pursue policies that uplift the welfare of Benue people while contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s overall progress.

He further urged Nigerians across all faiths and regions to remain steadfast in prayer for the country’s peace, stability, and prosperity, stressing that collective faith and patriotic action remain the foundation for a truly great nation.
