How APC Reps Primaries in Alimosho turned bloody, two killed

The House of Representatives primaries of the All Progressives Congress in Alimosho area of Lagos State on Friday, May 27, turned bloody and reportedly left no fewer than two persons dead.

The exercise, which started peacefully at about 3 pm at the Secretariat of Ikotun/igando Local Council Development Area, later turn bloody following a do-or-die disposition of two factions of the party in the area.

It was learnt that one of the factions is led by Orelope and the other by Enilolobo.

The two groups had different aspirants contesting for the position.

While the Orelope faction has Prince Idris Balogun, popularly known as Oluomo, as its aspirant, the Enilolobo group has Ganiyu Ayuba.

According to eyewitness accounts, supporters of the two groups were on ground during the exercise.

One Tunde Adamson narrated that the election started smoothly until some armed thugs arrived at the venue, disrupted the process and thereafter declared their candidate as the winner of the election.

“This resulted in crises as dangerous weapons were freely used despite the presence of security operatives,” he said.

Supporters of one of the factions, it was gathered, stabbed two of their opponents, simply identified as Zuri Boxer and Ogunlaye to death on the spot.

The situation created tension in Ikotun, Igando, Egbeda and their environs.
