BREAKING: PDP women protest at Edo Assembly

The women’s wing of the Peoples Democratic Party on Friday had several of them protesting as they embarked on a solidarity march to the Edo State House of Assembly in Benin City.

The women who said they were in solidarity with the embattled Speaker of the House, Mr Frank Okiye who was reportedly impeached on Thursday by 17 out of the 24 lawmakers at a private residence in Benin, and in his stead, a new Speaker, Mr Victor Edoror, was elected.

They condemned the impeachment of Okiye and laid curses at the Assembly gate as a section of them claimed to be spiritualists.

They walked from the Government House along Osadebey Avenue all through, to the Anthony Enahoro Complex, Ring Road.
