‘Politics in Nigeria Is Shambolic’ — Odumodublvck Blasts Corruption

Popular Nigerian rapper and singer, Tochukwu Ojogwu, widely known as Odumodublvck, has described Nigeria’s political system as “shambolic,” saying power in the hands of men often leads to corruption.

Speaking in a recent episode of the BET Talks podcast, the rapper said that the problem with governance goes beyond the president, stressing that even a good leader can easily be corrupted by those around him.

“Politics in Nigeria is a shambolic scene like everywhere in the world. When you give a man power, it never really goes as planned regardless of whether the person is good or bad.
If the person is bad, bad people are going to make him worse. And if the person is good, you will have bad people trying to contaminate the good,” he said.

Odumodublvck further lamented that many Nigerians have been “brainwashed” into blaming only the president for the country’s woes while ignoring other political officeholders.

“Nigerians have been so brainwashed that when there is a problem, the first thing they think about is the president. You have your local chairman, councillor, senator, who are directly representing you, but you are holding only the president accountable for all the challenges our society is facing. Other public officials should also be held accountable,” he added.
