Abuja – Operatives of the Nigeria Police on Wednesday sealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, following a violent showdown between rival party factions.

The unrest erupted on Tuesday when the faction led by Saminu Turaki clashed with supporters loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The confrontation escalated into pandemonium, with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State reportedly teargassed during the fracas.

Authorities moved in to restore order, leading to the temporary closure of the party’s headquarters.

Further updates on the incident are expected as the situation develops.
