Prominent Plateau State cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has declared that former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, will not escape divine punishment for allegedly discrediting reports of ongoing killings of Christians in Nigeria.
Rev. Dachomo, who serves as the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, made the statement in a passionate video shared on his Facebook page on Thursday.
According to the cleric, Omokri has repeatedly denied the existence of what he described as a Christian genocide in Plateau State, despite mounting evidence of deadly attacks by armed militants in the region.
Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has in the past invited international fact-finding teams to Nigeria to prove that Christians are not being targeted. However, his stance has drawn widespread criticism, particularly after he claimed that only 17 people were killed in an attack that reportedly left over 150 dead in Plateau communities earlier this year.
Following public outrage, Omokri deleted the post without issuing any apology.
Reacting to his comments, Rev. Dachomo accused Omokri of “spitting on the graves of innocent victims” and warned that he would face the wrath of God if he fails to repent.
“There is genocide and I have evidence to prove this. I have pictures of innocent people killed, including little children,” the cleric said emotionally. “Very soon, I will hold a press conference to show the truth the government doesn’t want the world to know.”
He continued:
“Then there is that man called Reno Omokri, who came out and said there is no genocide in Nigeria. That man, I have cursed already. He will never know peace down to his grave. The only hope for him is repentance.”
Rev. Dachomo further accused the Nigerian government of turning a blind eye to the killings, alleging that security agencies have failed to protect affected communities from repeated attacks.
“They are exposing us to Fulani terrorists by refusing to come to our aid when we cry out. They are exposing us; let them continue killing us. Then they turn their faces as if nothing is happening,” he said.
The cleric vowed to release more evidence of the killings, insisting that history and divine justice would vindicate the victims.
