A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Ambassador Ojong Agbor, has congratulated the new Acting National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, describing his emergence as “the best thing to have happened to the PDP” at a time the party needs urgent stability and direction.
In a statement issued on Monday, Ambassador Agbor said Abdulrahman’s appointment marks a new dawn for the PDP and presents an opportunity to restore unity, confidence, and discipline among members nationwide.
“I congratulate Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman. His emergence is a necessity to save the PDP from total collapse. As a child of necessity, he must unite the party and restore confidence among members,” Agbor said.
The PDP stalwart urged the new chairman to prioritize peacebuilding within the party, oversee the completion of all pending state congresses, and ensure that disputes from previous exercises are amicably resolved.
Agbor further called on Abdulrahman to immediately set machinery in motion for a proper National Convention to elect a new National Working Committee that will steer the PDP toward internal cohesion and electoral strength.
He concluded by praying for divine wisdom and guidance for the acting chairman, expressing confidence that Abdulrahman’s leadership will rekindle hope among party members and reposition the PDP as a credible national alternative.
