Oyetola at 71: APC Will Reclaim Osun in 2026

JUST IN: Supreme Court dismisses suit against Oyetola’s participation in Osun poll

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will reclaim power in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Oyetola gave the assurance on Monday during a special prayer session held at his Iragbiji country home in Boripe Local Government Area to celebrate his 71st birthday.

The former Osun governor said the APC in the state was waxing stronger in unity, stressing that cohesion and peace within the party remain the key to securing victory at the polls.

“By God’s special grace, our party will emerge victorious in the forthcoming 2026 gubernatorial election. I thank God for the way things are going with our party and how we have been able to stand in unity,” he said.

Oyetola urged party faithful to continue to foster togetherness ahead of the election, adding: “I want to encourage us to continue in that suit and ensure that peace and unity reign in the party because that is how we can emerge victorious in 2026.”

The minister also reflected on the sermon delivered by the Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhyideen Salman, at the event, charging attendees to be a blessing to others rather than hoarding opportunities.

Addressing the youth, Oyetola advised them to remain focused and dedicated, with the fear of God guiding their pursuits. He cautioned against involvement in thuggery, drug abuse, and other vices.

“Don’t be involved in thuggery. We didn’t get involved in drug abuse before attaining this height. So please stay away from drug abuse, because it only leads to mental health issues,” he warned.

The event drew dignitaries, clerics, political associates, and well-wishers who gathered to pray and celebrate with the minister.
