Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has described the Turkish champions as one of the three most passionate football clubs in the world, citing the electrifying atmosphere at their home ground as unmatched.
Osimhen made the remark in a recent interview with The Players’ Tribune, where he recounted a conversation with Virgil van Dijk following a UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool.
“Galatasaray is one of the top three clubs in the world in terms of passion,” Osimhen said.
“If you don’t believe me, just go ask Van Dijk because after our match against Liverpool, he said to me, ‘What an atmosphere this is!’”
The Nigerian forward’s comments come on the heels of an impressive performance in Europe, where he spearheaded Galatasaray’s victory over Juventus in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff tie on Tuesday.
Osimhen’s influence has been pivotal in Galatasaray’s domestic and continental campaigns this season, further cementing his status as one of Europe’s most decisive strikers.
