Former Abia State governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has declared his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to campaign relentlessly across Abia State and the entire Southeast.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television Wednesday night, Kalu expressed strong confidence that President Tinubu would secure victory in the Southeast in the next election.
He dismissed claims that he was misleading the president about his popularity in the region, emphasizing that his optimism was based on direct engagement with the people.
“My confidence shows you because in Abia, for the first time, President Tinubu is going to win the state in 2027,” Kalu said.
“What gives me the confidence is my interaction with the people. What we had in 2023 was immaterial. I’m looking at the future.”
The senator further revealed that unlike in 2023, he plans to devote himself fully to the campaign.
“In 2023, I didn’t put in all my best, but in 2027, I will live there for five months, campaigning day and night. It will deliver Abia for Tinubu and the APC.
I don’t need anything from the president to deceive him,” he added.
