Omisore Confident of APC Ticket, Declares 2026 Osun Governorship Race ‘100% Winnable’

Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has expressed strong confidence that he will clinch the party’s ticket for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had fixed the governorship poll for August 8, 2026, while party primaries are scheduled to hold between November 24 and December 15, 2025.

Speaking in Osogbo on Tuesday while officially declaring his intention to contest, Omisore said over 90 percent of APC members in the state are solidly behind his ambition.

Omisore, who represented Osun East in the Senate from 2003 to 2011, assured that the APC is well-prepared to reclaim power in the state.

“Going forward, I expect the people of Osun State to vote massively for the APC come August 8, 2026,” he stated.

“This declaration shows the readiness of core APC members to ensure I emerge as the party’s candidate by God’s grace in December, and to strengthen public confidence in the coming APC government in Osun State.

“APC’s chance in 2026 is 100 percent. These are volunteers from every corner of the state—this is just within the party, not the public. We are getting ready for the forthcoming primaries in December,” Omisore added.
