
The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, who passed away after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.
Osoba died on Tuesday evening, nearly two years after undergoing surgery for breast cancer, according to her close associate and fellow actor, Alesh Ola Sanni.
Announcing the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Sanni paid an emotional tribute to the late actress, recalling the memories they shared.
“Couldn’t sleep since last night. It’s well. Rest in peace, my dearest sister Temitope Osoba. We had amazing times and good memories together. Till we meet again. I really don’t know what to say. Gosh,” he wrote.
Osoba’s death comes after a courageous fight against breast cancer, a journey that drew support and prayers from colleagues, fans and well-wishers across the country.
Tributes have continued to pour in from members of the Nollywood community, who remember the actress for her talent, resilience and contributions to the Yoruba movie industry.
Her family is yet to announce details of her funeral arrangements.
