NNPP Orders Nationwide Mobilisation, Begins Fresh Membership Drive Ahead of 2027 Elections

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has instructed its state executive committees across the country to immediately begin mobilising credible politicians in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The directive also mandates states to commence fresh membership registration and update their existing registers. This was disclosed on Friday in Lagos by the party’s Founder and Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam.

Aniebonam emphasised that only politicians with proven integrity, verifiable records, and honour should be admitted into the party.

He noted that internal leadership tussles between the NNPP and the Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso-led Kwankwasiyya Movement derailed the party’s focus in recent years.

“Our time was so taken in the leadership tussle… The attempts to hijack the NNPP led to litigation that affected our ability to participate in the elections that were held in the past,” he said.

“With the issues now almost resolved, all hands must be on deck to pursue the NNPP’s primary mission — enthroning good governance in Nigeria with the fear of God.”

He added that members unwilling to uphold the party’s core values are free to leave, stressing that the NNPP bears no grudge against former members.

“We appreciate and pray for those who are no longer with us to find favour wherever they have gone. As mortals, we must forgive former members despite their betrayals that led to their expulsion,” he said.

Aniebonam urged current members not to be distracted by negative influences, expressing confidence that “victory shall be ours” as the party rebuilds.

He also stated that he personally holds no resentment towards Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima, insisting that he has moved past the controversies.

The party now aims to reposition itself and rebuild its structures nationwide as the 2027 elections draw closer.
