Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have begun assembling at the Congress’ Secretariat in Abuja ahead of a nationwide protest against the country’s escalating insecurity.

Among those present are NLC President Joe Ajaero and prominent civil society figures, including Omoyele Sowore and other members of the Revolution Now Movement.

Security agencies, including the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and officials from the Department of State Services, have been deployed to maintain order at the site.

The protest, initially scheduled for 17 December, aims to draw attention to the worsening insecurity affecting communities across Nigeria.
