Nigerian security agencies have received approximately 800 deportees from the Republic of Niger at the Jibia–Magama border in Katsina State.
According to an operational report obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, the returnees—comprising men, women, and children—arrived around 9:30 a.m. in eight buses.
The report stated that the deportees are currently undergoing comprehensive profiling by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, the Police, and other intelligence agencies. The exercise is aimed at ensuring proper documentation and conducting necessary security checks.
Authorities noted that following the profiling process, the deportees will be relocated to Kano State for further administrative and humanitarian procedures.
Officials say the coordinated effort is part of ongoing measures to manage cross-border movements while maintaining national security.
