President Bola Tinubu presided over his administration’s debut Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House in Abuja today Monday, August 28, 2023.

Following the inauguration of 45 ministers on August 21, the president charged them with advancing his administration’s “renewed hope” agenda.

The president emphasized the significance of honesty and efficient service delivery. The FEC meeting started with the national anthem and pledge, and the press was asked to leave.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, the Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Yemi-Esan, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila are also present at the FEC meeting.

This comes just a week after the President installed the new cabinet members. Three of the 48 ministers nominated were not confirmed by the Senate due to security clearance concerns, including Nasir el-Rufai.
