President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerians to have faith in God on Wednesday in Lagos so that the nation might experience peace, stability, and prosperity.

Speaking to reporters after attending the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the prayer area at Dodan Barracks, the President emphasized the need for unity and collaboration while pleading with Nigerians to avoid ethnic and religious rivalry.

The President said: “Allah would not put upon the nation that which it cannot bear.”

“I give thanks to the Almighty Allah for keeping us healthy up to this point and ask Him to provide us long-lasting health and wealth. May the sacrifices we make lead to success. We must make the necessary sacrifices.

“However, Allah won’t give you a load you can’t bear. He is available to us. We need to believe in the nation. Have faith in ourselves and the fact that we must work together to construct this country as its citizens.

“Let us live with one another in happiness and wealth without regard to our religion or tribal identities. God will provide peace to those of us fighting on the front lines, and Nigeria will experience peace and stability.”

The President also used the opportunity to pray for the Nigerian forces engaged in the front lines of the insurgency, expressing his sincere hope and the hope of the entire country for their success.

Sheikh Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abu-Nolah, the Chief Imam of Lagos State, presided over the Eid prayer, which got underway at nine in the morning.

At the Eid prayer site, the Chief Imam afterward carried out the required ram killing in honor of the Prophet Ibrahim’s heroic deed of complete devotion to Allah’s order.

Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat spoke on behalf of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, congratulating Muslims in the state and throughout Nigeria on the joy of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and urged them to support President Tinubu in his efforts to improve the nation.

We have a responsibility to pray for our leaders. We must beseech God to grant our President the strength he needs to complete the task at hand.

Along with other notable government officials and prominent politicians, the prayer was attended by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the former Governor of Lagos State and former Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
