Nollywood actress, Ruth Eze has appealed to Nigerians to be kinder to one another amid tougher economic challenges confronting the citizenry.
Eze made the appeal in a video shared on social media on Wednesday.
Narrating a recent encounter with a female colleague, the actress said a lot of Nigerians were putting up brave exteriors to hide their secret pain.
She said, “Something just happened now that I will like to talk about. So I went to the mall and saw a colleague of mine. We were just cracking jokes and she was laughing. Suddenly, she just started crying.
“I’m like ‘Babe, why are you crying?’ We were cracking jokes, she was laughing and just started crying.
“She started telling me that ‘Ruth, I’m really going through a lot’.”
She added, “This is somebody that is posting on Instagram like everything is okay. My God!”
An emotional Eze said the encounter left her heartbroken.
Appealing to Nigerians, she said, “Please, be nice out there. A lot of people are going through a lot that they can’t even discuss. Please be nice with your words.”
