Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspiring to contest for chairmanship in the upcoming local government election in Adamawa State will need to pay N10 million for the necessary forms. The party released its election timetable on Wednesday, detailing that the nomination form for chairmanship costs N9 million, while the expression of interest form is priced at N1 million.
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) had earlier released the general election timetable on Tuesday, outlining the electoral activities leading up to the vote on July 13. ADSIEC’s issuance of the timetable and meeting with party representatives at its Yola headquarters marked the official start of election activities, with a commitment to ensure a free and fair process for all parties involved.
For those seeking to become councillors, the PDP announced that the nomination form would cost N100,000 and the expression of interest form N20,000, totaling N120,000.
Adamawa PDP Chairman, Barr Tahir Shehu, noted that the party’s timetable aligns with ADSIEC’s schedule for the July 13 council election. He specified that the sale of nomination forms will occur from June 7th to 12th, 2024. Completed forms must be submitted between June 13th and 14th. Councilorship primaries are scheduled for June
