Minister who slumped at Bauchi event discharged from hospital

The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Katagum, who slumped at an official event on Monday in Bauchi State, has been discharged and moved to Abuja.

Nelsdaily had reported that Katagum who was in Bauchi State to inaugurate an empowerment programme collapsed as she tried to deliver her speech.

She was rushed to the trauma centre of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ABUTH.

The minister, who hails from Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, had been in the state since Saturday and had many personal and official engagements before Monday when she slumped.

At the amenity ward, a nurse who preferred to stay anonymous said that the minister had been discharged.

“She suffered from exhaustion and was discharged about 9am because she was stable. She has been taken back to Abuja.”
