The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has announced that Nigeria has recorded 457 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus infection.
This was disclosed via its Twitter handle, @NCDCgov, on Wednesday.
According to the update, the 457 new cases were reported from 21 states including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Lagos happened to top the list with 137 cases while the FCT followed with 76 fresh infections.
Five other states that also recorded high numbers of fresh cases include Plateau – 40 cases, Rivers – 35, Enugu – 34, Oyo – 25 and Abia – 23.
Other states are Delta – 12, Edo and Ebonyi – 11 cases each, Cross River and Kwara – 10 cases each, Kaduna – 9, Anambra – 7, Ogun – 5, Imo and Bauchi – 3 cases each, Osun and Nasarawa – 2 cases each, Kano and Ekiti recorded 1 case each.
314 persons have been discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering and this brings the total number of discharged persons to 32,165.
17 more deaths have also been reported in the past 24 hours thus increasing the number of deaths to 927.
