The Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, LASU, Prof Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, on Monday, 31 August 2020 announced that students of the university would resume lectures in batches.
It would be recalled that on Saturday, 29 August 2020, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had announced that tertiary institutions will be allowed to open from September 14th, 2020, while primary and secondary schools may be reopened on September 21.
The VC who was addressing questions during a radio programme on Eko 89.7 fm, explained that students in 400, 500 and 600 levels would resume before others.
Fagbohun also stated that lectures would hold between 9 am and 3 pm on the university campus without giving a specific resumption date.
He further added that students in 200 and 300 levels would resume two months before the commencement of their examinations.
The Vice-Chancellor also pointed out that in line with the NCDC requirement for medical facilities, LASU has a COVID-19 team to keep the university on toes in ensuring compliance and isolation places have been provided in the university which makes the school prepared to accommodate students and visitors.
He explained a routine that has Mondays and Wednesdays for 300-level students to be on campus for lectures while Tuesdays and Thursdays for 200-level students. This is in order to maintain social distancing and to protect the lives of the students of Lagos State University and the staff.
The university just concluded its online examination for post-graduate students.
