JUST IN: Witness slums, dies inside Ondo court

An unidentified man in his seventies collapsed and died inside an Ondo State High Court in Oka, Ondo, before court proceedings commenced.

According to witnesses, the elderly man was present to testify in a case involving his friend. He suddenly stood up from his seat, collapsed, and hit his head on the tiles, leading to his death.

A court staff member, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, “The man appeared healthy and did not collide with anyone or anything. He simply collapsed and passed away.”

Another witness, Tunde Ariyo, reported that police officers from the Enu-Owa division were called to the scene and transported the deceased to the mortuary.

The Enu-Owa Police Division confirmed the incident, adding that the case has been transferred to the homicide section of the police headquarters in Akure for further investigation.
