Hardship: Tinubu’s son didn’t err in calling for patience, says group

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu BAT Vanguard has risen in defence of Seyi, son of President Bola Tinubu, after facing attacks for asking Nigerians to be patient in the face of the current economic hardship in the country.

Leaders of the group, Hon. Sola Olofin and Barr. Jesutega Onokpasa in a statement on Thursday said it was entirely out of place and quite condemnable for a number of well-known social media trolls and their clueless cheerleaders to have singled out Seyi for particularly vitriolic trolling in the wake of his humble appeal to fellow Nigerians to be patient during this period.

“Indeed, we commend him for positively engaging his fellow countrymen and women while assuring them that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

“Even as the son of the President of this country, the gentleman is still a bonafide and full fledged citizen of Nigeria and is right to be concerned for the good of his fellow citizens while encouraging them to be resilient and hopeful in the midst of a challenge that we will surely overcome”, the group said.

Noting that Seyi has always displayed interest in the welfare of fellow Nigerians and regularly intervened to touch lives of others, the Tinubu Vanguard said current challenges are byproducts of years of mismanagement.

“The problems we are presently facing started piling up a long time ago and unless we want to deceive ourselves in this country, it should be obvious and crystal clear to everyone that they cannot be solved overnight.

“We therefore call on our fellow Nigerians to be hopeful and to remain focused and committed to the progress of this country.

“President Bola Tinubu is strenuously working hard to ameliorate the condition of our citizens and lift them out of poverty”, they added.
