Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and reign in the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, accusing him of attempting to create a political crisis in the state.
Addressing journalists at the Government House in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke alleged that Oyetola is collaborating with the state’s security chiefs to enforce a non-existent court order to reinstate sacked local government chairmen, despite a valid court ruling that had dismissed them.
“The people of Osun will not sit idly by while attempts are made to undermine the law and create unrest in the state,” Adeleke warned, urging the President to instruct the National Security Adviser and the Attorney General of the Federation to verify that the Court of Appeal’s decision did not reinstate the dismissed officials.
The Governor also expressed concerns over the alleged undue influence Oyetola, the nephew of President Tinubu, is exerting on Osun’s security forces. He emphasized the need for peaceful intervention to prevent further escalation.
